The FCC and FEMA have scheduled the next nationwide EAS test for September 27, 2017. All EAS participants are required to file Form 1 a month prior to the test on the FCC's Emergency Test Reporting System (ETRS). Although the filing deadline is Monday, August 28, you are urged to begin the filing process as soon as possible to avoid last-minute issues. See MBA FCC Counsel Gregg Skall's memo on the process of filing on ETRS. Read the CommLawCenter memo for further details. Also, review the FCC's ETRS FAQs sheet, the FCC's Public Notice of the nationwide EAS test, and the FCC's 2017 ETRS instructions.
